Between client calls or Zoom meetings, school drop-offs and pick-ups, trying to squeeze in a workout, managing a household, keeping up with your business or that never-ending to-do list, and still trying to have a life—you’ve probably asked yourself, “Where did the day even go?”
If you're reading this with your phone in one hand, a to-do list in the other, or maybe it's your mind that is racing... then this post is for you.
I know the feeling, I've been there, and I am going to share with you how some real life practical hacks I use to simplied my life.
Here are seven self-care smart hacks that will help you buy back time, simplify your life, and actually relax (without the guilt). They work for me, and I am sure they will work for you too.
1. Run Errands After Work, Not On Weekends
The grocery store, pharmacy, and gas station are usually less crowded after 7 PM. As a business owner as well (who happens to be the entire team), I do deliveries after work hours most times
Hack it: Pick one weeknight (e.g., Thursdays) to do all your errands in one sweep. That way, your weekends are for rest, not running around.
The shift is to treat weeknights as productivity sprints, and weekends as sacred ground.
2. Do Laundry Midweek—Not On the Weekend
Doing laundry on weekends traps you into “housework mode” instead of recovery mode.
Hack: Start a load Wednesday night while you prep dinner or shower. Fold while watching Netflix or listening to your favourite podcast. You’ll be shocked how stress-free your Sunday feels when laundry is done.
Bonus: Use a “folding basket” system—each person gets their own to grab and go.
Manage Your Energy.
Don't push through just for the sake of it. If I wake up feeling off and can’t shake it, it's ok to shift things around—maybe trade your morning workout for an afternoon session instead. Flow over force.
4. Hire a Housekeeper to Deep Clean Twice a Month
Stop trying to scrub walls, clean windows, and all those domestic things on your weekend!
Hack: Budget for a cleaner to come every other week. You handle light daily maintenance; let them handle the grime.
Reminder: A clean space is peace of mind. It’s not a luxury—it’s a strategy.
5. Batch-Prep Your Proteins on the Weekend
Food decision fatigue is real.
Hack: Wash, season, and portion your meats or plant-based proteins on Saturday or Sunday. Store them in labeled ziplock bags or containers in the fridge or freezer. Now your weekday meals are plug-and-play.
Pro move: Use one base seasoning blend to flavor multiple meats—then customize with sauces during the week.
6. Buy clothes that requires light or no ironing.
Why? Because you are not trying to add “household stylist” to your already packed to-do list.
Wrinkle-free = stress-free.
It’s one less thing to worry about when getting ready for a client meeting, content shoot, or school drop-off, or worse when running late.
The goal? To look good without the extra fuss—because time is a luxury, and you should not spending yours behind an ironing board.
7. Make friends with your service providers—seriously!
From your market vendor to your hairstylist, or nail tech, building relationships with the people you rely on can save you hours each week.
✅ For your market runs—treat it like automation. Send your list ahead, let them prep your order, and just swing by for pickup. No more waiting in lines or walking in circles.
✅ For your hairstylist, or nail tech—appointments only. Respect your time and theirs. Standing around hoping to be squeezed in is a thing of the past.
Efficiency isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about making smarter moves with the people in your orbit.
8. Use Sunday Nights for a 30-Min Life Setup
Don’t start Monday overwhelmed.
Hack:
Review your calendar
Plan 3 top priorities
Confirm appointments
Pick outfits for 2 days at minimum
This is not you’re not planning to be perfect. This is you planning to have peac
